Junior Field Engineer

Mission

As a Field Engineer, you ensure the continuity of systems within the clients datacenters.

You will work in a day to day storage support role for several different customers throughout the Netherlands mostly located in the South of the country.

You are responsible for the support on site of Hitachi Vantara storage infrastructure, including:

• Maintenance and replacement of different storage products from Hitachi.
• Resolution of incidents, technical interventions when an error occurs in one of the storage products that are placed at the customer site
• Tracking and following of incidents using a dedicated application.
• Ordering of the replacement part at the local DC (Distribution Center) and contact the customer to schedule an appointment.
• Ensure the continuity of systems after/each intervention/replacement
• Besides the day to day support you are responsible to keep up the necessary paperwork and inform your team about the progress.

As a Field Engineer you are an ambassador for our organization, that means that you are an easy communicator on different levels (from mechanic till client). As a person you have a flexible mindset and you are able to prioritize. Besides that we expect that you have:

• Recently graduated in IT domain, or a first experience as Support Engineer
• General storage/systems knowledge
• Good UnixLinux or Microsoft systems background
• Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language (in word and writing);
• ITIL certification is a nice to have;
• Drivers license (B).

In the role as Field Engineer you will start with an extensive training program to perform your position. Experience with storage products is not necessary to apply.
